Friday 7th March witnessed Trade Paints golf societys' first outing ... and it didn't disappoint. With bacon, tea and goody bags dealt with the 16 of us headed out onto the moist mounds of Chart Hills.

And what a set of hills it is too!! We were blessed with some glorious weather- which was a good job as it took some of the group (mentioning no names!) six and a half hours to get round!!

The golf was of a high standard, especially given the conditions underfoot! ... with the longest drive clearly being some sort of practical joke (turns out it was neither a joke, nor was it hit with their own club!).

Congratulations go to the overall winner on the day, Murray- shooting a fantastic nett 71!- for his exceptional 39 points... and whatever you had for breakfast Murray that caused that longest drive, please let me know! Congratulatoins to John Morgan for an great shot into 17 to claim nearest the pin! (I on the other hand got a prize of a different sort for nearest in the water in one ... www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHHFkWvt3Hk.)

As for the TP Ryder Cup ... not a great start for Europe at all!! - USA claimed 6.5 of the 8 points going, thus leaving Europe trailing on 1.5!

This just leaves me to thank everyone at Chart Hills for the exceptional service and great course!

Peter.
